Getting Through to the Heart - Mary Catherine Marketing

Marketing these days is more than just getting the word out. People are inundated with words, noises, voices, and messages demanding their attention ALL…DAY…LONG. So to get through all of that mumbo-jumbo, as we like to call it here in the Sweeney household, and actually to a person who is ready and wants to listen – you have to aim for their heart.

As business owners or leaders of a nonprofit, you have to captivate your audience. Gone are the days when just telling them about your good work will suffice. No, you have to find ways to emotionally connect your audience (and hopefully potential donors someday!) to your mission and work.

How do you do that? Through compelling pictures, well-crafted messages, heart-felt stories, funny memes…something – ANYTHING they can relate to on an emotional level. The sky is really the limit if you are willing to get creative! These images below are just a few examples of how Down Syndrome Alliance of the Midlands worked with me to help tell the story of Down Syndrome Awareness during this month of October.

Compelling pictures? CHECK!

Well-crafted messages? CHECK!

A little humor and cute-factor included? CHECK!

Then don’t forget to share them! Search Down Syndrome Alliance of the Midlands on FB and IG to follow these posts and learn more about Down syndrome throughout the whole month.

Proud to be part of this amazing organization to help them spread awareness about just how incredible people with Down syndrome are—just like my son Henry.

Happy Down Syndrome Awareness Month!

Meet Henry!
